I wished I could call myself a polymath…but I am not, at least not yet. But one thing I know, I am a student of life.
It was Jesus who said:
“Behold the fowls of the air…Consider the lilies of the field” [Matthew 6:26, 28]
and the sage Solomon who wrote:
“Go to the ant, …consider her ways, and be wise” [Proverbs 6:6]
“Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry” [Habakkuk 2:2,3]
“Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;” [Revelation 1:19]
I write about what I learn and observe in what I see around me, about the excursions I make in my mind, the discourses I have with people, the insights I get about trends, Scriptures etc. I try to “Behold”, “Consider”, “Go” and “Write” all in an attempt to be wise and help others in the same direction.
Writing in my opinion, not only preserves history, it also models civilization. As the Third President of the United States of America and Principal Author of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson once said,
“Our peculiar security is in the possession of a written constitution. Let us make it a blank paper by construction”
I believe the discipline of reading and especially writing would inure to our benefit as a people, and be a peculiar security, if we keep it objective and consistent.
These words I believe says a bit, if not a lot about me. We’ll get to know each other better; in the meantime, welcome to my world!
